Hello everybody,

the idea of having a generic area concept works fine also in our use case "Passenger information within trains".

In our understanding, the area is tightly related to a specific infrastructure element (for the PIS use case, only ocps are required).
For example, we use these areas together with the GPS signal of the train to determine that the train is approaching a particular station.

An only implicit link between the ocp and the area will likely lead to a missinterpretations (e.g. in case of short station distances with overlapping areas).

Therefore, we suggest to establish explicit links from the infrastructure element to the assigned areas. One infrastructure element should have the opportunity to link to a number of areas.

Best regards,
Thomas Kabisch
