Dear all,

the Human-Man-Interface (HMI) of interlocking systems usually has some
logical elements not related to physical objects which are only used for
indication or commanding.

But they need to be known to interlocking. One variant are the "route
indicators". For certain types of interlocking we need route indicators
for route begin and route end.

These indicators will be displayed on the HMI to show the status of the
route (active or inactive).

Is it possible to extend the data model of railML 3.x in that way?

Best regards,

Dear all,

in addition to Heidrun's description please find here an example of such indicators (with numbers 1&2). They can be
positioned in the path of a route or aside a signal at the route start or end. In relay interlockings with graphical
operator desk they were additional lamps but nowadays in software they are just small graphical objects expressing the
particular status of the related route.

It is conceivable to model them as individual objects in AssetsForIL and refer to them from <routeEntry> or <routeExit>

<assetsForIL>
<routeStatusIndicators>
<routeStatusIndicator id="ind1" elementNumber="0347" positionInRoute=”start”/>
<routeStatusIndicator id="ind2" elementNumber="0348" positionInRoute=”end”/>
</routeStatusIndicator>
</assetsForIL>

<route id="IL_Z33Ab9ZZwY2AeMOCAuTBRD1a">
<routeEntry id="entry1">
<refersTo ref="IL_OEQD4IWYU28zmtNROcrW79"/>
<hasIndicator ref=”ind1>
</routeEntry>
<routeExit id="exit1">
<refersTo ref="IL_wLQttVlq052WuiHZD3O9Br8"/>
< hasIndicator ref=”ind2>
<hasOverlap ref="IL_Z5BQ1SWZDUMTekloAgZDaFZZob"/>
</routeExit>
</route>

Would you see this as an extension useful for more than one user?
