Dear all.

Bane NOR have been asked for their need to have an element handling line sections in railML2.5.

In general Bane NOR definitely sees the value and will be dependent of having an element like <lineSection> in railML. This because the line sections in Norway have their own names and number based Ids. Line sections are among other things used in communication within train operations, and in maintenance.

As railML3.x is the main interest for Bane NOR we have no plan to use the railML2.5 version actively. Until the publication of railML3.2 we will be covered by the line section construct defined as part of the Norwegian extention to railML2.4.
