Dear modellers,

the infrastructure object "derailer" slipped out of the IS schema. Apart
from a message dating back to 2008, there's no trace of them in RailML but
I'm quite sure derailers still exist in real life.

I considered defining a derailer element in the interlocking schema but it
would seem that derailers primarily belong to infrastructure, e.g. for the
sake of asset management.

I therefore plead for the reintroduction of this element in the IS-schema.
The interlocking schema could then extend the derailer and add attributes
proper to interlocking.

Yours,

Bob Janssen
