An axle counter may be connected to a level crossing and/or an interlocking system.
Attached is a model of a level crossing which have a TVD section owned by the Level crossing. This TVD section is used to deactivate the level crossing.

Dear Georg,

thank you very much for the document with the example of TVD sections linked with an interlocking and a level crossing. From the code snippet provided on page 2 I conclude that railML 3.2 covers all your requirements for linking the TVD sections. Is that correct or are you missing fundamental information in the model?

If the model is complete, I suggest to add your example as best practice example on the wiki page of either the element <trainDetectionElement> in infrastructure [1] or <tvdSection> in interlocking [2].

Best regards
Christian
