A derailer can be of different types. In Norway we differentiate between a derailer connected to one single rail and a derailer connected to both rails operating in parallel. The derailer is defined as one object in the infrastructure asset management. An attribute added in the <derailIS> might be a possible solution to differentiate between different types of derailers.
Suggestion: New attribute to the <derailerIS> in railML3:
• derailerType: Type of derailer equipment: possible values are single and double

It seems that our double derailer always is located inside a switch and therefore connected to 2 different tracks, but with the same control (see attached picture). My question will therefore be how to model this double derailer in railML3. Two <switchIS> elements with refrence to 1 <switckIL> element?

According to our discussion in last work groupmeeting ETCS:
- Introduce an attribute "type" with options "singleDerailer" & "doubleDerailer"
- A doubleDerailer would then have to be modeled with two (spot)location-entries - each related to the affected netElement

with the new type attribute in <derailerIS> I would prefer the solution with one
object <derailerIS> and one object <derailerIL>.
