Dear railML community,

in the railML use case working group "ITMS" [1] the link between a stopping place and a platform edge has been discussed. The conclusion of the discussion was that a stopping place can be linked with more than one platform edge (e.g. when having platform edges on both sides of the track).

So, it has been requested to adapt railML 3 data model: The existing attribute <stoppingPlace>@platformEdgeRef shall be replaced by a (repeatable) child element <stoppingPlace><allowsUsageOfPlatformEdge> that provides a link to a <platformEdge> element.

I summarized the approach in Trac ticket #454 [2] and kindly ask for your feedback: what do you think about this idea? Do you have remarks or requirements for adapting this solution proposal? Any kind of feedback is highly appreciated...

Thank you very much and best regards
