Hallo railMLer,

Hello railML-fans and developers,

during the last railML-Meeting in Dresden we finally addressed the long
time pending topic "interlocking-Schema". The overall impression
was: we definitely need such a scheme and some applications are
desperately waiting for an IL-Schema.

For this reason we agreed on the following steps:

* The development of an independant IL-Schema was launched

* The discussions related to the development of the new schema will be
held in the infrastructure-group at first. If neccessary, we will
introduced a new IL-newsgroup on the next railML-meetings.

* The development should be according to the procedure introduced in
misc-group. Hence, we will start collection features, data and
information about what should be covered in the new schema.
Afterwards, we create a roadmap and start the implementation.

* To improve the collective creation of new documents (such as a
feature-list) we will setup a wiki in the next days. This wiki will
contain the newly created documents for the schema. Details will
follow via newsgroup.

Anyone who wants to contribute to the development (expert on operations
and control, engineers, programmers, IT-experts, scientists) are
wellcome to post their ideas! Knowledge about XML is definitely not
required to take part in the discussion!

Since the new schema needs some "fitting" and "orientation" at the
beginning, any contribution is wellcome! It's mandatory for us to
receive as much input as possible to develop a schema that fits to as
many requirements as possible!

One last remark regarding an organizational aspect: please introduce
every posting related to the IL-development with "[IL]" in the subject!
That makes it easier to distinguish between "normal" infrastructure
mails and IL-postings.

I'm looking forward to our collective development!

Best regards,
Volker Knollmann
