Hello railML community!

When loading a file in the railvivid application, the xml is syntatically checked against the xsd file as defined in the root element. However, there is no check that is performed if the application is able to download the file at the schemaLocation. The user is presented with a very generic error (see image attached) leading him to believe that there is a validation issue with the file.

I propose that the application checks for internet connection at startup or at least returns a clear error during usage.

Thank you

Dear Mathias,

Thank you for letting us know about this. We haven't seen the message shown in thumbnail_image002.png before and I not sure what the source would be without additional information and testing, so we will get in contact with you as soon as we can so we could reproduce the same issue on our end.

As for the message from the other image, it should only be shown in case of a missing railML namespace in the file.

Thank you so much.

Hello Marharyta, it seems that the second screenshot is not related to railVIVID. Sorry for that.

As for the first screenshot. This appears on 1 computer and not on another. I can open the file perfectly but another user cannot.

This is the header of the file:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<railML xmlns="https://www.railml.org/schemas/3.3" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" xmlns:xml="http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace" version="3.3" xsi:schemaLocation="https://www.railml.org/schemas/3.3 https://www.railml.org/schemas/3.3/railml3.xsd">

It seems that the problem with the loading of the file, that gives the first screenshot error, is resolved when using the railVIVID version available for "internal test", so version 2.02
