Dear all

What do you think about adding road traffic signals in railML3.3?

Currently in railML3.2 IS:signalIS is used only for the representation of railway traffic signals, i.e. giving commands to the train driver.

Road traffic signals can be used to model the protection of level crossings. As road traffic signals are not controlled by interlocking they belong to the infrastructure subschema.

Road traffic signals were already requested by Bane NOR in their post about extending the model of level crossing [1]. railML.org decided to create an explicit forum post for this issue as it reappeared during the discussion about signals in general.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Dear Larissa, dear all,

since there has been no reaction on the forum post, I assume that the topic of road side signals for level crossings is not required for railML 3.3 implementation. However, with Gitlab issues #515 [1] and #377 [2] we still have topics to enhance the level crossing model with...
