Dear All,

I'd like to propose following things for the certification of
export/import-program of raiML.

1. To disclose the exported test railML files from the candidate program,
on the application-page of railML.org web site, if the program could get
the certificate.

It could show how the program exports optional elements/attributes, and
it's helpful to the people who want to exchange data to that system that
has the export-program.

2. To check if an export/import program conforms the wiki "stories" at the
certification

There’re a few “stories” on wiki as followings, to describe how to
use railML elements/attributes;

a) Orientation/Reverse
http://wiki.railml.org/index.php?title=TT:Reversing_trains_a nd_formations

b) Mid night overrun
http://wiki.railml.org/index.php?title=TT:Midnight_overrun

c) How to reference Infrastructure
http://wiki.railml.org/index.php?title=TT:howToReferenceInfr astructure

d) Trains coupling and sharing
http://wiki.railml.org/index.php?title=TT:trainCouplingAndSh aring

e) iRFP: Umlaufplane (rosters)
http://www.irfp.de/download/railml_beispiel_umlauf.pdf

f) railML recommendation and example for usage of DC elements
http://www.irfp.de/download/railml_beispiel_dc.pdf

Isn’t it useful to check if an export/import program conforms these
stories, if the candidate program supports the corresponding optional
elements/attributes?

Best regards,
Utah (Yutaka Manchu)

Such a page is planned since a long time and shall be published with the
relaunch of railML's web site in Spring/Summer 2015. In correlation with
the development of railML's Viewer and Validator programme, which shall be
launched at the UIC's conference on April 28th, we asked our development
partners to provide example files. Maybe we can hope for a file from
Toshiba too?

At the moment a certification manual for railML interfaces is under
development and shall be published in Spring 2015 too. I will forward your
proposal to the contracted consultant.
The full usage of these optional elements will depend from the use case of
the interface.
These use case will be described at the moment by some of the railML
developers.

Best regards,

Dear Vasco,

Thank you for your responses for my proposals!

I hope so, when Toshiba gets the certification of its export program. ;-)
