Fintraffic Railway Ltd. – Ensuring Safe and Efficient Rail Traffic

Fintraffic Railway Ltd. is responsible for ensuring safe, smooth, and environmentally friendly rail traffic across Finland. Collaborating closely with partners, we manage railway traffic control and management, capacity planning, and track work coordination, ensuring over 500,000 trains and millions of passengers reach their destinations annually.

We provide real-time passenger information through station displays, announcements, and the Junalähdöt.fi service. Our control centre operates 24/7, monitoring traffic, overseeing the catenary system, and maintaining a national situational picture of rail traffic.

We are responsible for realising the development and verification phase of the Digirail project, aimed at reforming the train control system. With our services we promote smooth traffic flow and safe train traffic that allow goods and passengers to reach their destinations safely and on schedule. By continuously improving railway operations, we support sustainable transport solutions and a stronger rail network.

With nearly 500 experts we are ensuring the smooth operation of Finland’s railways every day of the year. Our main control centres are in Helsinki, Tampere, Kouvola, and Oulu.
