by Sharon Király (railML.org)

At railML, we are excited to announce that work on the railML® 3.4 Alpha 3 version is completed and ready for review by the working groups.

As scheduled, railML 3.4 Beta 2 will be launched in autumn of 2025 and presented to an international audience on November 5th at the 48th annual railML Conference in Madrid. Until then, the team of railML working groups SCTP, NEST, and ETCS in cooperation with the IDX4rail consortium – which aims to combine data for railway and tramway infrastructure – continues working avidly on implementation, testing and integration of feedback. With regard to the previous railML 3.3 version, the following key features have been added:

  • Submodel of Track Bed
  • Submodel of Case Survey Data
  • Revision of Positioning Approach (location of functional infrastructure elements)
  • Extension of Track Geometry (horizontal and vertical alignment, superelevation)
  • Update on submodel of Level Crossing
