Announcement of the end of support for railML 2.4
by Gulruh Farmonova (railML.org) (comments: 0)
As the railML® is always developing further it is not worthwhile to continue the support of older versions like railML 2.4. Therefore, the support of railML 2.4 will end on November 30th, 2026. Furthermore, the new railML 3.3 schema is available for the usage of railway data interfaces since November, 2024.
The difference is going to be that railML.org from this date onwards will no longer:
- certify new interfaces or put them into productive/commercial use of railML 2.4
- improve the railML Wiki and other documentation for railML 2.4
- provide, support or answer questions regarding railML 2.4 to software developers
It will still be possible to use railML 2.4: Existing 2.4 interfaces can still be used for an unlimited time if they are certified, and no changes are made. If you are uncertain of the difference between railML 2.4 and 2.5 you can click on the following link to our wiki page: https://wiki2.railml.org/wiki/Dev:changes/2.5
We will continue the support of railML 2.5 until further notice and will support you if there are any questions or you need help with the conversion to 2.5/3. x.
Further information for the railML versions can be found in the railML's version timeline.
