railML 2.4/3.1 Roadmap: 33rd railML Conference
33rd railML Conference at Thales Headquarter in Berlin
Spring is always the time for the German speaking railML community to come together and exchange about completed, ongoing and future railML.org development work. In 2018 everybody came together on invitation of our partner Thales in Berlin on the 18th of April.
The presentations were a mix of railML schema development reports by the railML.org schema coordinators and company and partner presentation. At the end Thales offered us the unique opportunity to look at their laboratories in Berlin. The conference therefore was a pleasant mix of theory and practical insights.

In the focus from railML side was the announcement of the roadmap for the publication of railML versions 2.4 and 3.1.

Also an ongoing development to the whole railway sector with railML 2.5 (release date not yet decided) and railML 3.2 (release planned for End of 2019) was announced to give the developers and users a long term support and return on investment guarantee.
Presentations slides and next meetings
All slides are available for download on our website. The next railML conference will take place in Prague in November 2018, focusing on the English speaking railML community. We are very happy and thankful that our partners Thales Germany (Spring 2018) and SŽDC Czechia (Autumn 2018) so generously support our conferences by hosting the conferences! Only due to this we can offer free conference participation and with this pave the way towards a successful, generic exchange format.
Update August 2nd, 2018:
The official release of railML 2.4 was postponed to September 2018. This was necessary as some railways required additional attributes on short notice, which will be intergrated first after recognition of universality and approval by the railML.org community. Further information about the technical details can be found in the railML Forum.
