BLS

Details:

BLS is a Swiss railway company (half state / half private) which was founded in 1906, as a summary of several private companies. Therefore BLS had just a few years ago its 100th anniversary which shows the wide experience over the last 10 decades and the ability to overcome a lot of challenges. All in all BLS had to be innovative to survive as an additional company beside the “state-owned” railway in Switzerland.

BLS is separated into several divisions as Infrastructure, Passenger, Freight and Operating. Each department is collaborating with each other in a very close and efficient way. Besides the classical passenger and freight traffic BLS is operating ships, buses and the rolling “motorway”. Here we have developed some core competences and are also able to think in a multimodal world.
