The timetable system Viriato, presented first in 1997 and continuously developed further since then, has set a milestone in the market and is internationally recognised as state of the art by authorities and railway companies. Originally developed for strategic long term planning, the demands and requirements of our customers led to a process of constant evolution and adaptation. More than 90 customers in 15 countries use Viriato for a large variety of tasks all along the process chain from long term planning down to creation of daily timetables. Some 450 users in railway undertakings, infrastructure managers, public authorities, consulting companies and universities rely on the versatility and efficiency of Viriato in service planning and timetable construction. SMA’s portfolio is probably one of the largest in the railway industry, including all type of stakeholders.
