Funkwerk develops a product line for modern passenger information systems. This offers an end-to-end solution for informing passengers about scheduled journeys and deviations. The system covers the complete value-added process - from train tracking to announcements and displays. Based on this product line, Funkwerk developed the product KARI for the Norwegian railway operator Bane NOR, which is in use throughout the country.
KARI imports the timetable that is created with the HaCon system TPS. This includes long-term planning of the annual timetable on the one hand and short-term planning with deviations from the schedule on the other. On this basis, further changes and results from the train tracking are then automatically integrated in order to inform the passengers about deviations in the train traffic.
The import of the timetable is based on railML version 2.2. Data that could not yet be modeled in this version is imported via TPS extensions.
