FAS BackOffice

FAS BackOffice is the on-ground software solution that supplies Siemens Driver Advisory Systems with the necessary input data. Driver Advisory Systems (DAS) are on-board systems that give online advices to the train driver on how to drive most energy-efficient whilst adhering to the working timetable. The main purpose of the FAS BackOffice is to receive the infrastructure and timetable data from a third party, usually the operator. After conversion into the internal data base format it is validated and  is transmitted automatically to all units of the vehicle fleet.

The modular architecture of the FAS BackOffice allows the use of several input formats. With the railML®-importer it can receive data from software products capable of outputting the necessary DAS data set into a railML^® file. There are some railML® extensions specific for the DAS use case.
