Hello,

we, the Funkwerk ITK GmbH, develop Customer information systems. For this we
need to deal with timetable, rollingstock and infrastructure information.
Currently it's quite difficult to gather this data, because every
country/company uses their own protocol or use our own current proprietary
protocol.

This is quite far away from an optimum. We would like to have an open
protocol to simplify this process.

For this we made an proposal to put railML(R) into a protocol - called
RailMLextended. We are going to give you a short presentation on friday at
the next railML meeting and hope, that we also could discuss this issue
after that.

For people, who are interested in the proposal, here is the link to it.
