Dear friends and users of RailML,

as announced during the RailML meeting in Braunschweig last week, the
brand new release "RailML 2.0" is about to be published.

The coordinators for the RailML sub-sections presented the most
important changes during the meeting. Their presentation will be
available on the RailML homepage soon.

The roadmap for the new release is as follows:

2009-10-06:
Presentation of RailML 2.0-RC1 to the attendees of the meeting. You can
download this version here:
http://www.railml.org/schemas/versions/railML-2.0-RC1.zip

2009-10-13:
Release of RailML 2.0-RC2 with improvements resulting from the user
feedback during the meeting. A downloadable version will be available by
Tuesday night at the following URL:
http://www.railml.org/schemas/versions/railML-2.0-RC2.zip

2009-10-20:
Due date for further user feedback on RC1 and RC2. Please provide your
feedback using the newsgroup or via private mail to the relevant
coordinator. Contact addresses can be found at http://www.railml.org

2009-10-30:
Release of the final RailML 2.0. A download URL will be provided in the
newsgroup and on the website.

If you want to keep track of every single modification to the XSD,
please take a look at the log messages for every incremental change
("Commit") to the various RailML files:
